I ventured out to CVS while my oldest was in dance class, so I just had the baby with me. I figured this is going to be the best time for me to do my weekly CVS shopping. Here is what I snagged and unfortunately I did two transactions and messed up BUT CVS has the BEST customer service of any store I’ve ever been to and the cashier really helped me out.
I was going for the Oral B toothbrush deal (spend $10 and get $5 ECBs). I got four of the toothbrushes and armed myself with my coupons and headed to the check out.
(4) Oral B Toothbrushes @ 2.99
But I get to the counter and they all ring up at different prices… two for 3.79, one at 4.99 and one at .94!
I had two BOGO coupons so that took off the .94 and one 3.79
I attempted to use two coupons on the other two toothbrushes BUT they were expired (the day before)
My total came out to $10.78 (FYI… I also had a small bag of dum dums because I bribed the baby into being good)
I used a gift card to pay (from filling a prescription oh so long ago)
I get my receipt and there are NO ECBs! So, I’m disappointed and read it and it says I need to spend an additional $1.48 to earn that reward. I head back to the toothbrushes again and go ahead and pick one up. Then, I remembered I had a $4/20 ECB that I could use so I got one more toothbrush and picked up (2) Crest Prohealth Mouthwashes at $3.97 (buy 2 and earn $5 ECBs) and 1 Colgate Max Whitening toothpaste, not the tube but the other container thing they use that was on clearance for .82. I have coupons for the Mouthwashes and the toothpaste.
I go to the counter and explain to the guy that I forgot I had the $4/20 ECB so did I need to do a refund on the original transaction and just do it all over again or what did I need to do? He just asked for the ECB coupon, pushed some buttons on the register and handed me $4 in cash! Wow… didn’t know they could do that. This is how this transaction ended up…
(2) Crest Pro Health Mouth Wash @ 3.97 each
(2) .75 MQ
Cost = $6.44
Earned $5 ECB
(1) Colgate Max White toothpaste @ .82
Used (1) .75 MQ
Cost = .07
Total = $10.41
Used the gift card again for the remaining $7.96 that was on it
Total due = $2.45
Used the cash he gave me from the $4/20 ECB
I left with $1.55 cash from the $4/20 ECB that he cashed out for me and $10 in ECBs
On my first receipt a $25 gift card with a new prescription was on it, so I went back to the pharmacy and transferred one of my prescriptions so I will be getting yet another $25 gift card from CVS tomorrow night. I’m very excited about starting back to my CVS shopping. Very excited.
