HT Planning Trip #4 (I think??)

As I am learning the UPC thing on coupons (matching the first five of the coupon to the product) I am learning a LOT!

There is a deal on Aunt Jemima frozen waffles this week at HT B2G3.  The waffles are $2.89, so buy 2 and get 3 free so for two that would be $5.78 and use (2) .50 Cap’n Crunch coupons and your total would be $3.78.  That’s .76 per box.  That’s not bad at all!

There is also a $1 off Betty Crocker icing coupon and this will work on any General Mills item so I’m hoping to get the “meals in a box” type of thing like Wanchai Ferry for an easy weeknight meal.  I have enough Hamburger Helper, but this should work on that too.  You could use these on granola bars too as long as the UPC begins with the same 16000.

Just be careful not to use more than three wrong coupons per UPC.  Put your wrong coupons on the top so if any of our coupons “beep” then it should be on the items you have the right coupon for and they will override it.  I will come back later and post what I end up getting.  I’m so excited… grocery shopping during super doubles without children!!!  LOL

Crockpotting!

Yes, you heard me… crockpotting J  That is my new term.  I have GOT to learn how to use my crockpot better and more often.  I am on the hunt for some healthy recipes, or ones that at least don’t have a “cream of…” soup.  Those I can live without.  I found one that I am going to try this week.  Granted the picture of it isn’t that appetizing, but the ingredient list sounds good so I’m going to try it.  Crockpot Chicken and Brown Rice Casserole

I stumbled across this wonderful blog “A Year of Slowcooking” and I’m going to peruse it a bit more, but it seems like a great resource.  I am going to strive for using it one night a week.  If I can do that much then I really only have to cook one day from Monday through Thursday.  The weekends are up in the air because you never know what we’re going to be doing and with getting off early on Fridays at least I’m not rushed to dig something up.

HT Super Double Trip #3!

Hi… I am addicted to coupons.  I love the rush of the game that it has become to me and super doubles week is absolutely one of the greatest!  I went again today on my lunch break and I am so super happy, giddy, beside myself with how well I did.  It even included my lunch.

1 Ken’s dressing BOGO sale @ 2.00 – 1.00 ken’s marinade Q = free
2 more Nabisco snack bags @ 2.00 – (2) 1.00 oreo fudge cream Q = free

2 bags goldfish @ 1.97 ea – (2) 1.00 pepperidge farm baked naturals Q = .free
Old Spice Deodorant 3.00 – 1.00 Q from P&G $110 savings book = 1.00

½ club sub @ 3.49

Subtotal: 20.23

OOP: 5.21

Take out the sub: 1.72 on groceries!!

I was really tempted to pay for the sub separately just because I wanted to see what everything was, but I didn’t.  They were too busy and I had a short lunch today since I took half a day yesterday… and no, it wasn’t for coupon shopping (but I wouldn’t put it past me next time!).

I am going to go again this evening.  Granted, I already used 8 coupons (20 double limit each day) but I still have 12 more that I can do tonight and I will go for the cold items.

Hot Prints

If you don’t have a Hot Prints account you need to sign up for them.  They are a photo service like Shutterfly or Snap Fish, but the best thing is… you get four free photo books each month credited to your account.  You have to pay shipping and handling for each one at $2.99 but that’s only $11.96 for four books.  Start thinking about your Christmas stuff.  Yes, I know I am getting way ahead of myself.  It’s too close to order for Mother’s Day, but there is Father’s Day coming up in June.  I know a few dads and granddads who would love a new brag book on their little ones.

I need to start thinking ahead and might print out a few books from our vacation this year for the grandparents, and for ourselves.  I think that would be nice to have a photo book of each vacation we take.  Even if it’s only a weekend camping or beach trip.  Memories are always nice and I wish I had more pictures from my childhood… sounds like a good resolution to try and keep up with!

Today's Groupon

Today’s Groupon is AWESOME and I’m really thinking about getting it myself.  For $20 you get $40 Groupon to The Body Shop.  BUT if you use it by the end of May it’s worth $45.  This could definitely rack up some good Mother’s Day merchandise, or you could spoil yourself… whichever you choose.  It’s good in any retail location and online.

Go HERE to check it out.

Wow

I didn’t know (and never thought to look for) buying whole inserts of coupons.  There are some weeks that go by and I am like “darn… I should have bought more papers because that’s an awesome coupon” and I look on ebay and coupon clipping sites to see if I can find the coupons for cheap and just never order them.  Never had I thought to look for a website that sells the whole inserts.  I have learned about wholecouponinserts.com from southern savers (a random comment on someone’s comment).  You can buy the P&G insert for only .55!  It looks like every now and again they sell them in bulk too… like buying a whole thing of 50 of the same insert for $12.75!  I’m amazed that I never thought to look for something like that because there have been some weeks I’ve just plain forgotten about Sunday being paper day.

Learn something new every day!

I'm Back

I am back on the band wagon.  I have dug out of my hole and am back with the normal world.  I am going to start couponing again, which I’ve done today (and yesterday) and will post the scenarios I have come up with.

Don’t forget today is your last day at Harris Teeter to get your buy one get two free boneless skinless chicken breast.  They are the small packs of three breasts per pack and range starting in the $8.00 range and going up to and over $12.  It’s a great deal especially if you stack with the Catalina’s you got from the hamburger helper promotion (which is still ongoing).
