Do you work full time? outside the home, at home, have kids, husband, etc.? Well, I have and do all. I am off work today and for the rest of the week (yay!) but now I find myself wishing that I was a full time stay at home mom.
I have done a lot this morning that I needed to get done... new tires, got the car inspected, etc. And while it was nice to get all that done... the things I have loved the most this morning...
The girls waking me up and coming to cuddle with me in our bed
Not rushing and taking my time
Cooking the girls breakfast (and sitting down to eat with them)
Being able to talk with my girls this morning without having to give them "orders"... get dressed, brush your teeth, get your shoes, etc.
Taking the eldest to pre-school
Spending time with the baby
I really wish I was a full time stay at home mom. I would love to be able to have these mornings more frequently, like every morning! It was nice to be able to cuddle with them in the bed and sing the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme song this morning.
What would I need to do in order to be able to be a SAHM? I wouldn't even mind being a working SAHM. I am NOT saying that SAHMs that don't have duties "owed" to an employer don't work because running a household is work, serious work, work you can't leave, work that never leaves you, work that whines and fusses at you (lol) and better yet... work that is more rewarding than anything!
Yes, it is the hardest work anyone could ever do and even though you don't get monetary compensation it leaves you with the most fulfilling, happy, most wonderous feeling that you don't care if you ever get paid for it! I got the great opportunity to be a SAHM to my oldest daughter for the first 11 months of her life. And it was wonderful. I am a caretaker by nature and I love and thrive off of taking care of people, the house, pets, friends, etc. I love taking a place to live and making it feel like home. A place where everyone feels welcome.
Back to the topic right now... to be a SAHM would be a blessing. But in order to do that I need to supplement our income. My hubs and mother in law both think that I should teach people how to shop with coupons. Or even do the grocery shopping for those that don't have the time. Cook their meals for them ahead of time (a week at a time) for them to pop in the oven when they are ready to eat. I have thought about this a lot and have turned the idea over and over in my head, but right now this is not feasible however badly I wish it were.
Not only do I work full time, have two beautiful girls, a wonderful husband, a house to take care of, and everything that comes with running a house and the life of all included but I'm also in school full time. I am taking four classes again this fall semester. I believe that one day I will be able to put my energy and time into starting a home based business, but from what I've researched about home based businesses you have to put so much time and energy in order to start the business that I wouldn't have time to go to school and it is very important to me to have that piece of paper that says I'm worth a $hit! I want my girls to know that both mommy and daddy went to college and that they know anything can be done.
Yes, one of these days I will start my home based business but with all we have going on I don't have the time needed to start one and I really don't even have the time to keep up with one even if it was already established and profitable! I believe that my time right now needs to be my girls and family. While I wish that I could be a SAHM especially while they are little so I could cherish all these wonderful moments there are just sometimes we can't have what we want. At least my girls will know that hard work does pay off.
In the meantime I think I possibly could do little classes every now and again on how to coupon shop. I think I could do that without taxing myself... what do you think?
